Who needs numbers when you can create your own political reality, right?
The fact of the matter is that Hillary Clinton will defeat Bernie Sanders in Iowa on Feb. 1 with Sanders probably winning New Hampshire the following week. Real Clear Politics gives Clinton a 15-point lead in Iowa, while Sanders has a 9-point lead in N.H.
But even if Sanders wins in N.H., it will carry little weight since he hails from Vermont next door. Next up will be Nevada and South Carolina. Polling has been light in Nevada, but Clinton holds a 16-point lead in October. In S.C., Clinton has a 45-point lead. Did I read that right? 45 points??
And it only gets worse for Sanders.
On March 1, “Super Tuesday” Clinton is simply going to mop up. There are primaries or caucuses in 11 states. Unless she robs Fort Knox or shoots Monica Lewinsky. Here are fall 2015 numbers:
Alabama — HRC +68%
Arkansas — No recent poll
Colorado — HRC +28%
Georgia — HRC +57%
Massachusetts — HRC +34%
Minnesota — No recent poll
Oklahoma — HRC +34%
Tennessee — HRC +24%
Texas — HRC + 31%
Vermont — Sanders +51%
Virginia — HRC +27%
Let’s get real, folks.
Enjoy the ride, but on March 1 the carousel will close for the season.
